I Pad 3 Review

First thing that you will notice about the iPad 3 is that it looks almost like the iPad 2 on the outside until you switch it on. But when you do, you will see the difference. There is an entirely new /Retina Display to make everything on your screen look crisp and clear, along with an A5X processor that brings quad-core graphics, coupled with a great 5MP camera at its rear that also has a VGA sensor in front.

Weight
The weight of the iPad 3 is different from that of its predecessor in that it is 60g heavier. Although this might not really seem too much but when you have to hold it in your arms for a long time, like during movies, then you get to know what a little extra weight can do.

Display

The Retina Display is a noteworthy and amazing new addition to the iPads. There are much more pixels that have been packed into its screen of 9.7 inches. It has 1536 x 2048 pixels. The 360 PPI density is however much lower than and less sharp than its smartphone counterpart, a reduction of approx 264 PPI. This device, as per the recommendations of Apple, is to be held at a distance of 15 inches from the face as opposed to the 10 inches of the iPhone. This then amounts to the same sharpness more or less. This display is the best that has been found on tablet till now. The color reproduction is quite stunning too.

Images & Videos
Photo viewing, movie sessions, internet browsing and such other things are much improved in the iPad 2 over the previous model. These make it worth preferring it over the iPad 2. There are oleophobic and scratch-proof glass with curved edges and an aluminum chassis that gives it a unique touch to its design. In the end, it still comes down to personal preference.

There are very few buttons too- its just four buttons and no more. The iPad 3 also brought back the Home button, which was nearing its demise. On this device, it is quite easy to reach out and hit on its thick bezel. The other buttons have all been clustered tightly in the top left corner of this device, and include the volume or rocker key, power or lock key and the orientation or mute key- each within a distance of an inch of each other. Each of these buttons serves more than a single purpose, making things really efficient and avoiding a cluster of buttons. This is a proof that the iPad can multi-task and do it well too.

Operating System
The best upgrade is that to the iOS 5.0. It makes operating with this device highly simple and easy. The home screen is quite similar to that of the iPhone, with large screens for downloaded apps. Swiping between screens is silk smooth, even with lots of downloaded programs. There is a dock at the bottom too that can hold up to six commonly used apps, which is much more than the four of the iPhone.

These and a number of other unique features such as the number of apps uniquely designed for the iPad 3 make the it the best tablet seen by the tech market till date.
